About Augusta Sash & Door

Our History

Augusta Sash and Door Company began in January of 1955 as a partnership between W. B. Badger, G. W. Taylor and A. D. Kilham. The business was located on Ada Ramp Walden Drive, Augusta, Georgia. After a profitable four years, the company incorporated on July 24, 1959.The general nature of the business was the manufacture, assembly, processing and sale of windows, doors, moldings, cabinets, millwork and other products pertaining to the construction industry.

In 1962 plans for an expansion were formulated.The company purchased property on Wilkinson Road, Augusta, Georgia for a new facility.Construction of a truss and wall panel assembly plant, door shop, office, and warehouse followed. Entry into the truss and component home industry began. The company enjoyed years of continued growth under the leadership of Mr. Taylor and Bill Warlick (who joined Augusta Sash in 1961 from Howard Lumber Company). Augusta Sash and Door established a reputation for excellent quality and service.

In 1975, Mr. Taylor and Mr. Warlick became sole owners of the company. Augusta Sash and Door has always been active in the community through activities such as Little League and other youth activities, it has provided money and materials to support their projects.

The company has been very active in the Construction Suppliers Association with Mr. Bill Warlick serving as a director and as a trustee. Our employees are encouraged to be active in community, civic and church activities.

On August 1, 2000, the company was sold to W. J. (Billy) Badger and is now affiliated with Howard Lumber Company. The company is now operated as Augusta Sash and Door Sales of Georgia, Inc. Our manufacturing, shipping and warehouse facilities are still located on Wilkinson Road, Augusta, Georgia. Our sales office and showroom are located at Howard Lumber Company on Columbia Industrial Boulevard, Evans, Georgia.
